Manitowoc, WI –September 4th, 2009 – The race night was sponsored by Fox Hills Resort, Mishicot.

The 360 MSA Sprint Car, presented by Image 1 Motorsports, 30 lap A-Main went green to checkered after three cautions/red flags on the first lap. The first stoppage of the race came before a lap was even completed for the cars of Pete Ostrowski (Troy Center), Leroy Ostrowski (Milwaukee) and Randy Call (New Berlin) flipping on the front stretch along with the spinning car of Jay Riemer (Sheboygan Falls). As the green flag flew, the race was slowed again for the car of Russ Wetenkamp (Newton) losing power on the backstretch. Trying to get the race underway, the green flag was shown again and after a lap was completed the race was stopped again for the car of Tim Haddy (Waupun) flipping in turn three. All drivers that flipped checked out fine. The race now went green to checkered. Jeremy Schultz (Beaver Dam) took the lead for the first two laps. In pursuit, Scotty Thiel (Sheboygan) chased Schultz down and passed him on lap three. On lap seven, Thiel encountered lapped traffic but had his car hooked up and smoothly made his way around the track. Lance Fassbender (Burnett) and Travis Luedke (Plymouth) were making there way through the field from their tenth place and 11th place starting position respectively. As Thiel checked out he continued to lap cars. Chasing Thiel to the line were Fassbender, Luedke, Scott Conger (Eagle), and Terry Marten (Sheboygan Falls).

The Sprint Car 12 lap B-Main was shortened due to several accidents retiring several cars to the pits. The first caution came on lap one for the cars of Wetenkamp and Riemer spinning in turn 3 and 4. The second stoppage for the race came on lap seven for the car of Call flipping in turn one. With six cars remaining on the track, the race was cancelled. P. Ostrowoski took the lead of the race. On lap four, Robbie Pribnow crossed the line ahead of Ostrowski to be scored in first. Pribnow set the pace for the rest of the race and showed the way to the checkered flag. Finishing behind and transferring to the A-Main was Ostrowski, Kevin Karnitz (West Bend), Riemer, and Wetenkamp.

Tim Buhler (Glenbeulah) took the lead of the 25 lap Late Model A-Main at the drop of the green flag. Billy Rezutek claimed second. On lap three, Russ Scheffler (Pewaukee) passed Rezutek for second and was now challenging Buhler for the lead. The first caution of the race came on lap eight for the car of Gordie Seegert (Oostburg) stalling in turn four. After one more circuit was complete, the yellow flag came out for the cars of Jim Juneau ( Brookfield), Jarrod Anvelink (Bonduel), and Al Atkinson (Franklin) getting together in turn three. Buhler continued to set the pace with Scheffler right behind him. Buhler and Scheffler ran side by side for a few laps until lap 12 when Scheffler passed Buhler for the lead. Scheffler encountered lapped traffic on lap 18 but Buhler kept up and made his way through the lapped traffic right behind Scheffler. Scheffler took home the win followed by Buhler, Rezutek, Bret Sievert (Mukwonago), Craig Schueffner (Sheboygan Falls)

Seegert took the lead of the second B-Main. Anvelink claimed second on the first lap but when the cars came to the line on lap two Atkinson was in second. Anvelink wasn’t going to give up that easily and came back to reclaim second on the next lap. Seegert took home the win followed by Anvelink, Atkinson, Kyle Odekirk (Waldo), and Jim Rychtik (Port Washington).

Brian Gilles also scored a clean sweep in the Grand National division. Matt Jackson took the lead of the 20 lap Grand National A-Main. The field was slowed on lap five for the cars of Keith Kellenbenz and Jason Dyer getting together. Jackson continued to lead until lap seven. Gilles, who started eighth, passed Jackson for the lead on lap nine. The last caution of the race came on lap 14 for the car of Kellenbenz losing power in turn one. Gilles took home the checkered flag followed by Jackson, Bob Peter (Howards Grove), Jason Winkler (New Holstein), and Richard Hed (Plymouth).

Kris Conard (Manitowoc) took control of the 15 lap Hobby Stock feature from the pole. Greg Herrman (Whitelaw) jumped into second. Charging to the front from his tenth place starting position was Adam Krepline (Manitowoc). On lap five, Krepline passed Herrman for second and was now working on Conard.
