Lance Fassbender of Burnett had a 38 point lead over Sussex’s Al Schlafer coming into the night. With the luck of the draw and invert, Fassbender started on the front row of the caution free 35 lap 360 Sprint Car A-Main with Schlafer starting in the row right behind. Fassbender jumped out to take control at the drop of the green flag. On lap 2, Schlafer was right behind Fassbender and wouldn’t let him out of his sights. Lapped traffic came into play on lap 8 as Fassbender put a car between himself and Schlafer. Fassbender was meticulously weaving through the lapped traffic putting three cars between himself and Schlafer on lap 11 and for the rest of the race. Fassbender showed the way to the checkers followed by Kurt Davis of Milwaukee, Kewaskum’s Shane Wenninger, Schlafer, and Danny Schlafer of Sussex. Fassbender took home the EWSC 360 Sprint Car track championship hardware. Coming into the night 30 points ahead of second place Tim Carman of Sheboygan Falls, Craig Schueffner of Sheboygan Falls had one thing in mind after he found himself starting 11th in the 30 lap Late Model feature and that was to work his way patiently to the front. Schueffner did just that. Pole sitter Jim Schmidt of Cleveland led for the first 2 laps with Glenbeulah’s Tim Buhler making his way to the front and passing Schmidt for the lead on lap 3. Buhler held on to the lead until lap 13 when Ron Berna of Green Bay crossed the line to be scored in the lead. At this point, Schueffner was 5th and on lap 17, made his way to 4th. On lap 22, Gordie Seegert of Oostburg took control for the rest of the race. Finishing behind Seegert was Berna, Buhler, Schueffner, and Todd Jensema of Sheboygan Falls. Schueffner was crowned the EWSC Late Model track champion. Brett Wenzel of Two Rivers held a slim 7 point margin over Manitowoc’s Mike Bastian coming into the night. The Damrow Bros. of Sheboygan took the lead from the pole of the 25 lap Grand National feature and looked as though they had it under control. Plymouth’s Brian Gilles had different thoughts. Starting 10th, Gilles quietly moved towards the front and on lap 21 passed Damrow for the lead and the win. Chasing Gilles to the line was Dan Schumacher of Milwaukee, Phil Coppersmith, Damrow, and Tim Thompson. Chris Baumann of Elkhart Lake claimed the extra prize money donated by Krajnik Chevrolet of Two Rivers. Claiming the Cher-Make “Hot Dog” Hard Charger was Plymouth’s Josh McDonald for passing 10 cars. Wenzel claimed the EWSC Grand National track championship. At the start of the 18 lap Hobby Stock feature, Adam Krepline of Manitowoc held a 14 point lead over Sheboygan’s Jeff Leonhard. Jeff Bender of Sheboygan took the lead from the pole until Matt McDonald took control for one circuit on lap 7. Chilton’s Troy Bartel wouldn’t settle for anything less than the win and took the lead on lap 8. Leonhard and Bartel raced door to door for several laps and finally on lap 13, Leonhard was able to have bragging rights for 2 laps. Bartel fought back and on lap 15 took back the lead and went on to win the race. Rounding out the top 5 were Bender, McDonald, Leonhard and Josh Schroeder of Manitowoc. Krepline finished 10th which was good enough for him to take home the EWSC Hobby Stock track championship. Manitowoc’s Kyle Resch came into the night with a 51 point lead and knowing he had the EWSC Mighty 4 division track championship locked up. Josh Kracht of Sheboygan Falls took the lead of the 18 lap Mighty 4 feature until lap 9. That’s when Plymouth’s Amber Rabe crossed in front of Kracht to claim the lead. Rabe’s reign was short lived when on lap 11, Eddie Lemay took over the reign and led the rest of the way to the checkers. Finishing behind Lemay was Jake Meyer of Plymouth, Ian Fogeltanz, Rabe, and Matt Cherney of Mishicot. Resch claimed the EWSC Mighty 4 track championship.
