At the checkered flag, Fiedler charged through to win his first A-Main of the season. Tim McMullen followed in second with Pokorski, Ostrowski and Brandon McMullen rounding out the top five.
Plymouth’s Scott Haugstad grabbed the early lead in the Limited Late Model A-Main with four time feature winner Jay Crichton of Lake Villa, Illinois moving into second behind him. In lap three, Crichton attempted to tuck his car to the inside of leader Haugstad as they raced out of turn four but Haugstad charged down the front stretch holding onto the top spot. In the next lap, Crichton readjusted to the high side but Haugstad raced out of turn four high on the track to maintain the lead. By the mid-point of the race, Crichton again tucked his car inside Haugstad and the two competitors charged down the front stretch door to door with Haugstad in the lead by only inches. At the line in the next lap, Crichton charged passed Haugstad to take over the lead. Two laps later, in lap 10, four time feature winner and division point leader Dan Dippel of Plymouth took over second and set his sights on leader Crichton. But Crichton had developed a healthy lead over the field and Dippel would have his work cut out for him. As the field charged around the Manitowoc track, Dippel appeared to be making up some track on Crichton but at the checkered flag, Crichton charged through to win his fifth feature in the last six race nights. Dippel followed in second with Haugstad in third.
Battles for the lead of the Grand National A-Main started from the very first lap with New Holstein drivers Jason Dyer and Justin Danes racing side by side on the front stretch with Dyer scored as the leader by inches. Dyer and Danes charged side by side around the track and coming out of turn four Danes raced the high side of the track to take over the lead by a bumper in lap two. Again the two competitors charged around the Manitowoc track and at the line in the next lap, Dyer was in the lead. Brad Lubach of Elkhart Lake joined the battling Dyer and Danes and as the three charged through turn four to complete lap four, Lubach tucked his car to the inside of Danes and moved into second at the line, splitting up Danes and Dyer for the first time. When the field raced around the track again, it was Dyer and Lubach battling side by side through turns three and four and onto the front stretch. Just at the scoring line, Lubach edged out Dyer to take over the lead in lap five while Danes raced side by side with heat winner Brett Wenzel of Two Rivers for third. Leaders Lubach and Dyer charged around the track door to door and just about even coming through the corners. At the line in lap six, Lubach again was scored in the lead but only by inches over Dyer. Lubach and Dyer skillfully raced for the next four laps with only inches separating their cars as they traded the lead each lap. Dyer took the lead in lap seven with Lubach battling back and leading in eight. Lap nine belonged to Dyer with lap 10 being scored with Lubach in the lead. Meanwhile, Wenzel caught up to the back of the battling duo waiting for his opportunity to advance. By lap 12, Lubach, tucked to the inside groove, pulled his car ahead of Dyer, taking control of the race. Wenzel continued to chase them down with a four car battle developing for fourth. Bob Peter of Howards Grove, Danes, Jerry Wenzel of Two Rivers and point leader Brian Gilles of Plymouth charged tightly packed and side by side through the corners in a battle for position. Two laps later, Peter broke free slightly from the foursome as Wenzel charged the outside, Danes inside and Gilles right down the middle in a three wide battle for fifth. Wenzel eased into fifth behind Peter just as Brett Wenzel caught up to and tucked inside Dyer to challenge for second. By lap 17, as leader Lubach began lapping cars, Brett Wenzel moved into second with Dyer, Jerry Wenzel and Gilles moving into the top five. Just as the lap was completed, the first and only caution appeared and halted the racing action. The restart pulled leader Lubach back to within striking distance with three laps left in the race. When the green flag flew, Lubach charged out into the lead with Brett Wenzel on his trail. Dyer followed Wenzel in third. At the checkered flag, Lubach charged through to win his first A-Main of the season. Heat winners Brett Wenzel and Dyer followed in second and third. Point leader Gilles and Jerry Wenzel rounded out the top five. Twenty-one competitors charged through the green flag to start the IMCA-style Modified A-Main with Chris Piquette of Random Lake jumping into the early lead and Bill Tandetzke of Milwaukee in second. Dan Ratajczak of Frog Station and Russ Reinwald of Juneau battled for the first three laps for third with Eric Scribner of Forest Junction moving in the top five. By lap four, Reinwald broke free of Ratajczak and passed Tandetzke to take over second behind leader Piquette. Two laps later, Reinwald charged passed Piquette taking over the lead. In the next lap, Scribner and Paul Parker of Appleton both passed Tandetzke to take over third and fourth. Parker passed Scribner a lap later to take over third. As the field charged through to complete lap nine, Parker and Scribner passed Piquette to pull in behind leader Reinwald just before the first and only yellow flag appeared to halt the racing action. When the green flag flew to restart the race, competitors charged three wide around the Manitowoc track to complete lap 10 with Parker moving into the lead and Reinwald and Scribner chasing him down. As Parker started pulling away from the field, Reinwald and Scribner raced side by side down the front stretch in lap 13 with Jay Schraufnagel moving into fourth. Two laps later, Schraufnagel passed Scribner to pull into third behind Reinwald. Rob Schmid of Burnett moved into the top five a lap later when something broke on Scribner sending him to the pits unable to return. As leader Parker began lapping cars, Reinwald and Schraufnagel were forced to weave through the traffic sent back to them. Double duty driver Pete Ostrowski of East Troy charged into fifth in lap 22. When the checkered flag flew, heat winner Parker won his second feature of the season. Reinwald followed in second with Schraufnagel, Piquette and Ostrowski rounding out the top five. In the Mighty 4 A-Main, Tim Simon of St. Peter jumped into the early lead with Jesse Heise of Suamico on his bumper. By lap five, Jacob Meyer and Amber Rabe, both of Plymouth, moved into third and fourth with four-time feature winner and point leader JJ Anderson of Pulaski moving into the top five. Through a couple cautions in laps five and six, Rabe moved into third with Anderson chasing her down. Second in points Greg Gierke of Kiel moved into fifth in lap six beginning his climb in the top five. A lap later, Gierke passed Anderson for fourth and set his sights on Rabe in third. In the next lap, Gierke passed Rabe as Heise pressured Simon for the lead. Three laps later, Heise charged passed Simon to take over the lead in lap 11. Gierke wasted no time in passing Simon to take over second a lap later with Rabe and Anderson racing side by side for third. Rabe held onto third for the next five laps but when the white flag flew and the frontrunners were lapping cars, Anderson made his move to take over third with a lap to go. When the checkered flag flew, Heise charged through to win his first A-Main this season. Gierke followed in second with point leader Anderson in third. Heat winner Rabe finished fourth with Kyle Resch of Manitowoc also passing on the white flag to finish fifth. Heat winner Steven Ruh of Chilton grabbed the early lead in the Eastern 8 A-Main and began charging out in front of the field with Kris Conard of Manitowoc chasing him down. As the tightly packed field charged through turns three and four to complete lap three, cars raced three abreast passed the grandstand. Two-time feature winner John Mahlberg of Hilbert tucked his car inside Conard to take over the challenge spot in lap four as six time feature winner and point leader Brad Ruh of Ellkhart Lake and three time feature winner Kevin Ruh also of Elkhart Lake moved into the top five. As Mahlberg charged after leader Steven Ruh, Brad and Kevin Ruh passed Conard to take over third and fourth. At the halfway point in the race, a yellow flag halted leader Steven Ruh’s charge through lapped traffic out in front of the rest of the field. When the green flag flew, with 10 laps to the end, Steven Ruh charged out into the front again this time with Brad Ruh moving into the challenge role. Mahlberg battle back in the next lap and tucked his car inside Brad to race side by side down the front stretch. Brad held him off as Kevin Ruh threw his car to the outside in the next lap to race beside Mahlberg to pressure for third place in lap 13. In the next lap, Brad readjusted and tucked his car to the inside groove with Kevin Ruh moving into third place on the outside. Kevin continued his charge and passed Brad to take over second in lap 15. Brad battled back two laps later and tucked his car inside Kevin to race side by side down the front stretch with three laps to the end of the race. When the checkered flag flew, Steven Ruh, after winning his heat race earlier, won his second A-Main of the season. Kevin Ruh held onto finish second with Brad Ruh following in third. Mahlberg followed in fourth with Pat Wazny of St. Nazianz rounding out the top five. In the visiting Rascal Outlaw division, Mark Findley of Richmond, Illinois charged into the lead of the A-Main in the third lap with John Benkert of McHenry, Illinois and Jim Thiel also of McHenry moving into third. Heat winner Thiel made his charge into second three laps later and began reeling in leader Findley.
