Scribner, Parker and Wenzel go home Winners |
Manitowoc, WI.; July 21, 2007 - In the excitement of Limited Late Model A-main racing, Paul Parker from Appleton leading the way, with an ongoing battle for second and third. Dan Dippel from Plymouth started out in the back, by lap 10 was battling for second place with Jeff Sayler from Howards Grove. Sayler and Dippel were running laps side by side in the backstretch looking for the advantage finally being overtaken by Dippel in the 15th lap. |

Eastern 8 A-Main got underway with Nic Schuette of Plymouth taking an early lead for 6 laps with Brad Ruh of Elkhart Lake, Steven Ruh of Chilton, Josh Setzer of Sheboygan fighting for 2nd place racing 3 wide through the corners, with Brad Ruh gaining the advantage and the lead for the next 8 laps. After a series of cautions and the field thinned out John Mahlberg of Hilbert earned the top spot for 2 laps with Brad Ruh regaining the lead in lap 17 and raced towards his 5th feature win of the season. Following Ruh across the finish line to make up the top 5 were Mahlberg, Steven Ruh, Keith Ruh of Elkhart Lake, Mike Kaufmann of Newton. Grand Nationals started out with fast qualifying times, Brett Wenzel of Two Rivers and Brian Gilles of Plymouth both breaking the track record set last year. A-Main racing saw Jerry Wenzel of Two Rivers in the lead with Jason Winkler of New Holstein and Brett Wenzel in hot pursuit. A caution and restart in the 11th lap brought Winkler to the lead, three laps later another caution and restart gave Brett Wenzel the edge he needed to secure a victory with Winkler in second and Jerry Wenzel in third. Rounding out the top five was Brian Gilles and Dale Damrow of Sheboygan. In the Winged Super Modified race to the finish, Tim McMullen of Plymouth led the race with and Pete Ostrowski of East Troy working his way up in the field. Ostrowski gained the lead in the final two laps and McMullen and Ostrowski fought to all the way to the line with Ostrowski taking home the checkered flag. Kris Hansen of Manitowoc worked his way to 3rd by the 10th lap and kept his position strong against Brad Swendrowski of Milwaukee for the remainder of the race. Brandon McMullen who was victorious in his first heat race of his career rounded out the top five. IMCA Modified action saw Paul Parker of Appleton leading the field for the first half of the race until a restart gave Eric Scribner of Forest Junction the opportunity into second place and to take the lead in the 16th lap which he held until the finish. Pete Ostrowski of East Troy held on to his third place with Eric Mullen from Seymour taking fourth and James Steffanus of Appleton finishing up the top five. All-American Mighty 4 A-Main racing Jacob Wilcox of Seymour held his first place for the 15 lap feature. Jessi Ness of Abrams held his strong second through the 10th lap until J.J. Anderson from Pulaski made his way up through the field to take his place in 2nd with Ness in 3rd. Jamie Miller of Suamico and Tim Simon of St. Peter were the 4th and 5th finishers respectively.
