Then, again, McMullen would tuck his car tight coming out of turn four in the lead as Bricker charged passed him in the lead at the scoring line. Modified Butch Hafemann of Campbellsport chased the battling duo in third with another Modified Chuck Tuschl of Reedsville on his tail. When a competitor rolled in turn four on lap ten, the field was pulled back together on the restart with Bricker setting the pace. At the drop of the green flag, McMullen charged and took over the lead going into turn one with Bricker charging after him. Bricker was not ready to give up the lead and threw his car hard and high into turn three with McMullen down low. As the two charged out of turn four, Bricker took back the top spot and charged through the scoring line in the lead. Two laps later, Sprint Pete Ostrowski of East Troy challenged Hafemann for third but Hafemann held Ostrowski off for the next two laps. At the line in lap 16, Ostrowski moved into third behind team driver McMullen. The top four competitors now all moved to the outside groove of the track as they charged through the turns. When the checkered flag flew, Bricker won his feature on his first night out this season. In a last lap pass, Ostrowski finished second with McMullen, Hafemann and Tuschl rounded out the top five.
In the Limited Late Model A-Main, substitute driver Dave Haag of Glenbeulah charged out into the early lead with Howie Weiss also of Glenbeulah chasing him down. Haag used the high groove as he raced around the Manitowoc track as Weiss tucked his car to the inside coming out of the corners. Just after the only yellow flag restart, Haag charged out into the lead again with Dan Dippel of Plymouth moving into second but Weiss threw his car to the outside and passed Dippel the next lap. As Haag set the pace in the bumper to bumper racing action, new driver Jay Crichton of Lake Villa, Illinois challenged past track champion Dippel for third. Crichton pulled next to Dippel in lap 11. A lap later, Crichton took over third and set his sights on Weiss. Weiss and Crichton raced side by side through turns three and four with Weiss holding onto second in lap 13. As the checkered flag flew, Haag won the feature on the first race for him this season. Weiss followed in second with Crichton behind him in third.
When the Grand National A-Main hit the track, heat winner Brett Wenzel of Two Rivers wasted no time in distancing his car in the lead with Chad Kistner of New Holstein moving into second by lap three. A lap later, Bob Peter of Howards Grove and Jason Winkler of New Holstein charged passed Kistner to chase down leader Wenzel who developed a healthy lead over the field. By the mid-point of the race, Peter, Winkler and Kistner raced bumper to bumper around corners and side by side down the front stretch. By lap fifteen, as Winkler tucked his car inside to attempt to pass Peter for second, Kistner threw his car to the outside passing Winkler on the front stretch to take over third. As leader Wenzel began lapping traffic, Peter, Kistner and Winkler were forced to weave through the cars to catch up to first place. At the checkered flag, Wenzel charged through to win his second A-Main of the season. Peter followed in second with Kistner, fast qualifier Winkler and Mike Plate of Newton rounding out the top five.
In the Eastern 8 A-Main, Adam Krepline of Manitowoc and Steven Ruh of Chilton charged into first and second by lap two with Brett Koehler of Two Rivers moving into third a lap later. When a yellow flag appeared in that lap, Krepline set the pace from the front row with Ruh and Koehler directly behind him. When the green flag flew, Krepline charged out in the lead again with Koehler moving into second. Mike Kaufmann of Newton moved in behind Ruh with Brad Ruh of Elkhart Lake and Mark Vranak of Sheboygan battling for fifth. Two laps later, Kaufmann threw his car to the inside of Steven Ruh and took over third. Mid-way through the race, Krepline held a healthy lead over the field with a battle for second place between Koehler and John Mahlberg of Hilbert. Behind them, Brad Ruh and Kaufmann raced side by side in their own battle for fourth. Three laps later, Ruh had secured the position and threw his car to the outside of Mahlberg to inch passed him at the line to take over third. Five laps from the end in lap 15, a three way battle for second raged behind leader Krepline with Koehler on the high side, Ruh down the middle and Mahlberg on the inside of the track. A lap later, Mahlberg and Ruh continued to charged side by side with Mahlberg scored in second by inches at the line in 16 but Ruh battled back and took over second in lap 17. At the checkered flag, Krepline won his first A-Main of the season. Past feature winner Ruh followed in second with heat winner and two-time feature winner Mahlberg, Krepline and Vranak rounding out the top five.
Roger Borth of Plymouth charged into the early lead in the Mighty 4 A-Main with Amber Rabe also of Plymouth and Mark Kuhfuss of Howards Grove chasing him down. Two-time feature winner Kuhfuss moved into second in the next lap and charged after Borth. At the line in lap 7, JJ Anderson of Pulaski charged passed Rabe to take over third but Anderson had some distance to catch up to Borth and Kuhfuss. For the next three laps, Kuhfuss tucked his car to the inside of leader Borth in turn four to pressure for the lead but Borth charged down the front stretch in the lead each time. When the only yellow flag appeared in lap ten, Borth set the pace out in front with Kuhfuss inside and Anderson outside the second row. At the drop of the green flag, with a five lap dash to the end of the race, Anderson charged out in front with Kuhfuss racing after him in second. Anderson continued his charge out in front through the checkered flag to win his first A-Main of the season. Two-time feature winner Kuhfuss followed in second with Borth, Gierke, and heat winner Kyle Resch of Manitowoc rounding out the top five.
