EWSC Honors Champions at the 46th Annual Banquet! |

Kiel, WI.; November 4, 2006 - Eastern Wisconsin Stock Cars, Inc. celebrated its champions at the 46th Annual Awards Banquet held on Saturday night. An impressive showing of members and fans were on hand to honor all at the Millhome Supper Club in Kiel. The celebration began with a tribute to two long time members who had passed on during the past season. A moment of silence was observed for Harold “Happy” Laack, one of the founding fathers of EWSC and Dave Theobald, a long time crewmember, car owner and driver. The 2006 Season Champions crowned were Paul Pokorski for the Winged Super Modifieds, his third championship. Dan Dippel, his third career title in the Limited Late Model Division. Brian Gilles in the Grand National Division, his seventh title. Tim Jorgenson – Mighty 4’s and Adam Krepeline – Eastern 8’s, both earning their first championships with EWSC. Noteworthy is Adam Krepeline’s championship was complimented by receiving Rookie of the Year honors as well. The Rookie of the Year honors went to Dan Kruschke in the Winged Super Modifieds, Mike Wilde in the Limited Late Models, Jacob Meyer in the Mighty 4 Division and Eastern 8 Champion Adam Krepeline. The Best Appearing Cars for the 2006 Season were given recognition to past track champion, Pete Ostrowski in the Winged Super Modified Division, Dingel Bros. Racing (Paul & Mark) with their Limited Late Model, Brett Wenzel of the Grand National Division, 2006 Track Champion Tim Jorgenson in the Mighty 4’s and Paul Nelesen was awarded for keeping his car clean and straight all season in the Eastern 8 Division. The Dick Berth Memorial Award was presented to John Laack. John was given the prestigious award for his 25-plus years of involvement and dedication to EWSC. John has been a dedicated track worker as well as a former car owner and crew chief during his years racing with his brother Gary, a multi-year track champ. This is the eleventh year for this award. Honorable mention was also given to all of the employees for their efforts and sacrifice. The Track Crew was also praised for all of the hard work in keeping the track in the best shape it’s ever been. Departing Board of Directors were thanked for their service: Mary Horneck – President, Steve Ziegelbauer – Vice President and Mike Urner – Secretary. Their efforts were appreciated by all.
