Steve Bricker of Two Rivers and Bob Brion of Plymouth chased Pokorski with Butch Hafemann of Campbellsport, Dan Kruschke of Glenbeulah, Tim McMullen of Plymouth and Pete Ostrowski of East Troy remaining tightly packed as they battled for third place in lap four. A lap later, a yellow flag pulled leader Pokorski back to just in front of the field. When the green flag flew, another lap was completed before a second and final caution occurred and relined up the field again. As the field came around to take the green flag, Billy Hafemann of Waldo charged out of turn four and lifted his front end off the track down the front stretch. Pokorski flew out in front again with Bricker charging after him. As Pokorski began lapping cars in lap eleven, Butch Hafemann and Brion charged side by side down the front stretch with only inches separating their cars at the scoring line in a battle for third. Butch Hafemann secured the position and charged after second place Bricker. Two laps later, last season’s track champion McMullen moved into fourth. McMullen charged after Butch Hafemann for the next two laps attempting to tuck his car to the inside but with no success. Coming out of turn four to complete lap 16, McMullen readjusted and threw his car to the outside of Hafemann to take over third. By lap 21, McMullen caught up to the back of second place Bricker. A lap later, McMullen was within striking distance of taking over the challenge spot. As Bricker and McMullen raced into turn one after completing lap 22, McMullen threw his car again to the outside of the track to pass Bricker coming out of turn two. As leader Pokorski piled on the lapped traffic, McMullen was forced to weaved through lapped cars to find him. At the checkered flag, Pokorski won his eighth Modified A-Main of the season. McMullen followed in second with Ostrowski recovering from a flat tire on an early restart to charge from the back of the field to finish third. Bricker and Butch Hafemann rounded out the top five. Ostrowski won the Apex Track Supply Hard Charger Award. After the announcement earlier before the race program that, despite rumors to the contrary, the Limited Late Model division would be returning to the Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car program in the 2007 season, the Limited Late Model A-Main hit the track. Dave Haag of Glenbeulah charged into the early lead with Dave Schaetzer of Sheboygan chasing him down. Past track champion Dan Dippel of Plymouth moved into second by lap four and began his battle with Haag for control of the race. Coming out of turn four to complete lap nine, Dippel tucked his car to the inside of Haag but Haag responded by charging down the front stretch ahead of Dippel. Haag and Dippel then charged side by side into turns one and two and down the back stretch. The two battled side by side for the next couple laps. Haag and Dippel charged out of turn four together and drag raced down the front stretch to cross the line in lap eleven with only inches keeping Haag in the lead. The next lap through three and four, Haag and Dippel were once again door to door as Dippel tucked his car to the inside and this time crossed the line in the lead over Haag. Haag charged back on the backstretch pulling ahead of Dippel but Dippel held onto the lead at the line. In a final lap charge, Haag and Dippel threw their cars into turn three and charged out of turn four side by side with Dippel charging down the front stretch to take the checkered flag for his eleventh A-Main win. Haag followed in second with Schaetzer in third. Dippel also earned the Apex Track Supply Hard Charger Award. When the green flag flew, the competitors raced three and four wide around the track in a fast-paced battle for position. Schmidt again charged into the lead with Wenzel holding onto second. Chad Kistner of New Holstein moved into third with Jason Winkler also of New Holstein next to him in fourth. A lap later, at the half way point of the race, Scott Sohrweide of Chilton and Brian Gilles of Plymouth pulled side by side with Winkler in a three-way battle for fourth place. A lap later, Winkler and Gilles charged across the line side by side as Sohrweide experienced mechanical problems retiring to the pits two laps later. At the line in lap 13, Winkler broke free slightly as Brad Lubach of Elkhart Lake slid inside Gilles to challenge for fifth. Winkler focused on charging after Kistner. |

Rabe and Kuhfuss raced with only inches separating their cars as they charged out of turns three and four. As the white flag flew, Rabe held onto the lead and Kuhfuss moved his car to the outside of the track to race into turns one and two. Rabe charged in the lead down the back stretch but Kuhfuss pulled alongside Rabe as the two entered turn three. As Rabe and Kuhfuss raced out of turn four for the final leg to the checkered flag, Rabe had the slight advantage but Kuhfuss was undeterred. Rabe and Kuhfuss charged through the scoring line with literally only an inch separating a win and second place. In a split scoring decision with two scorers giving Kuhfuss the win and one placing Rabe in the lead, Kuhfuss took the checkered flag in his first A-Main win of the season. After the great racing battle, Rabe finished in second by an inch but was awarded the Apex Track Supply hard charger award after passing a remarkable 11 cars. |
